Electrolysis for Gender Affirming Care

This procedure uses an electric current to destroy hair follicles, preventing hair from growing back. It can be particularly significant for trans women and some non-binary people who seek a smoother, traditionally feminine appearance as part of their gender transition. Electrolysis can also be used by trans men or other gender-diverse individuals who wish to manage unwanted hair growth in specific areas.

The Center for Electrology takes pride in its comprehensive training programs. Aspiring electrologists will complete coursework and hands-on training under the guidance of experienced professionals. The curriculum covers essential topics such as anatomy and physiology of hair, principles of electricity in electrology, client consultation and care, and practical application of various electrology methods. Graduates emerge equipped not only with technical expertise but also with a deep understanding of client-centered care and ethical practices.


In addition to technical proficiency, the center emphasizes the importance of maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety protocols, and ethical conduct in all client interactions. Graduates leave prepared not just to perform treatments effectively but also to build trusting relationships with their future clients.



Our Program


We strongly believe in teaching all modalities on a variety of equipment so that our students are able to choose equipment based on preference, know how to easily change modalities on a case by case basis, and thoroughly understand all aspects of the job.

  • Hybrid program of 600 hours
  • 200 hours of Home Study covering Theory of Electrolysis
  • 400 hours of Practical Hands On learning
  • Program can be completed in 6 months
  • Allows for a work/life/school balance.

What We Offer

Meet Your State Requirements

Washington


The lack of available training and regulation in the state of Washington has encouraged us to create a comprehensive training program for those who wish to begin a rewarding career in Electrology. This class is competency based. Having a solid knowledge base and experience is so important in our industry. Students completing our program will obtain a certificate of completion and be able to work in the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Kentucky, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia and Wyoming.


Oregon


Oregon has high standards for Electrology services and training. 600 hours of training including 200 hours of theory and 400 hours of practical hands on. Students completing our program will obtain certification and Oregon Practical Examination. They will then sit for the Written Exam at the Oregon health Licensing Office in order to obtain their Oregon License.

An Oregon license allows for reciprocity licensing in most states.

Cheryl (Lee) Feigion

Biography

Eastside Electrolysis began in 1984 by Cheryl (Lee) Feigion. She ran a successful business for over 30 years, and was joined by her daughter, Danielle in 2015. Her granddaughter Maia joined the family business in 2020.
